One main theme of my work in the Stacie Anthony Collection features the "samara" or maple seed. Some people call them "helicoptors", some people call them "wings", and still others call them "whirlybirds", a samara is a achene (dried fruit) which contains a seed on it's wing-like papery tissue developed from the ovary wall. No matter what you call it, one thing for certain is that many people can relate a story from their childhood about these these little seeds.
In my most recent "samara" designs, the sterling silver image is paired with beautiful Caribbean blue larimar stone for a soft and soothing effect. Larimar is a rare blue variety of pectolite found only in the Dominican Republic, in the Caribbean.
Larimar is used at the throat and heart chakras by metaphysical healers.
The texture of the samara is reproduced into the jewelry design directly from nature making each piece one of a kind.
